Reborn class at DEDS!!!!!

So this is where it all began, my class at DEDS in North Carolina in June of 2014. I was so excited to be able to attend this class not only to learn but to meet Kate Charles whom I had followed for years. I was also thrilled to find out that not only were we receiving a brand new Marita Winters kit but she would also be there!!!! I have loved her sculpts for years. So this is the Sydney kit, she is so sweet and I was very excited to get busy making her come to life!!!!

Here is my work space all set up ready to get down to creating!!!!

The mottling has begun, I am finding this process very interesting and waiting for that moment when the vinyl comes alive!!! 

A bit of color but I really want to learn to create very dark babies  so I have a long way to go beyond these washes we are now doing. 

A close up of the details with the first layer of the finer lines, come to find out my first layer of color which was coming next would basically make most of these lines disappear so I would have to do them all over but I could see a bit of the shadow of them so used them as a reference point.

Here you can see my paint mixed up for the next step, color!!! This is the exciting part as I want to create dark babies!!! Here we go...

                       Getting browner!!!!!

Babies baking, so we have added eyes which is super cool!!! Mine is the baby on the right, I had one of the darkest babies in the class and she was no where near dark enough for me but time was running out. I was much prouder of my limbs than the face but hey this was my first attempt after all!!! If you look at the photo below you can see a blank leg and how my turned out, amazing to see what you can do in two days with vinyl and paint.

Here is my Sydney post class, I am very proud of her but have a long way to go in getting what is in my mind onto the vinyl. Enjoying the journey!!!
