First reborn on my own...

So I am about to begin my very first reborn on my own, I was able to purchase several kits at reasonable prices at DEDS to begin this journey. I will begin with a kit from Bountiful Baby called Holly. This kit has a very sweet face and I am excited to put into practice what I learned in class but also explore this art from my own perspective, here we go...

I forgot to take a photo before I started but here is the front and back at the beginning, mottling.

Here is the baby baking, this still strikes me so funny to say.

Mixing colors is a lot of fun!!!!

I am beginning to shade the face, this is an area I will need a lot of practice as I feel I am not very strong here yet.

Here are the limbs, I feel more confident in my skills on the arms and legs but also need to improve a bit. I love the hands and feet and all the details!!!!

Some up close details with a bit more color!!!!

Here are a couple of shots of the baby put together, I think I see a boy, he is coming along nicely!!! Very excited to see how he turns out when he is all put together. I think eyes really help them come to life as well as using a blanket to imagine a body.

So here is my palette after painting my first reborn, amazing how many colors it takes to create all the tones and variations of skin color. I will now post several photos of the baby we have named Musa now that he is complete, please enjoy !!!!

All ready to go home to his mommy :-)

I hope you enjoyed watching my first reborn come to life, from Holly to Musa!!!!

Musa was gifted to a family member so resides in a private collection.
